We’re past Labor Day but before Daylight Saving time and it’s our time to shine!

I love that so many people visit our area. It pays the county’s bills with revenue generated from hotel stays, restaurant bills, etc. I’ll admit, I don’t love the traffic and long lines when everyone descends on the Grand Strand in the summer time. But there’s a magical period of time when the weather is incredible and the tourists are gone: between Labor Day and before Daylight Saving time is Local’s Season. 

It’s easy to skip over some of the incredible things to do in our area and many of them offer local’s discounts. Here’s a list of a few things to do during Local’s Season: 

1) Ride the Sky Wheel and walk the Boardwalk in downtown Myrtle Beach.

2) Ride Go-Karts at the Broadway Grand Prix.

3) Enjoy Broadway at the Beach:

- Pop Stroke (fancy putt putt course designed by Tiger Woods)
- Wonderworks (amazing family outing)
- Ripley’s Aquarium (look for the sea turtle and pet a stingray)
- Eat at all the restaurants and shop at all the shops.

4) Visit Barefoot Landing:

- Lulu’s is a super fun restaurant on the Intracoastal Waterway with games for the kids to enjoy. Splurge and let them take the ropes course offered next door. 
- Crooked Hammock Brewery- great food but also enjoy a beverage on Turtle Island surrounded by water. Grab a swing chair at the bar!
- Big Chill Island House is one of many restaurants that you can finally enjoy without a long wait.
